The Location
Puglia in southern Italy offers a slower pace of life among ancient olive groves and whitewashed towns. It is a wonderful area of the country to explore, famous for its miles of coastline and excellent cuisine.

The Venue
A converted masseria (farmhouse) surrounded by countryside. This was once the site of a monastery - a stopping place for travellers on the pilgrimage route - and it still has a very calm, welcoming feel. A small frescoed chapel remains onsite. The building sits on a gentle slope and is constantly bathed in gentle winds enhancing the spiritual atmosphere of the grounds. A delightfully peaceful location offering rustic luxury.

Accommodation

Puglia is famous for its round, cone roofed trulli houses. This venue has its own which have been beautifully converted into bedrooms. The larger restored rooms are located in the original farmhouse buildings. Each room is unique with individual styling - white with accents of colour - and a spacious airy feel. All rooms offer modern comforts: lovely bathrooms and air cooling which is very effective and less noisy or drying than air conditioning. Towels and bedding are changed mid week. Pool towels and water bottles are provided.
The Food

The food on this retreat is the best you will find anywhere. It is like visiting a top quality Italian restaurant each day. Beautifully prepared and presented local cuisine with a contemporary creativity that will captivate your eyes as well as your tastebuds. Fresh fruits and herbal teas pre practice; a huge brunch with pasta, salads, cheeses, homemade breads, yoghurt, milks, juices, fruits, and nuts; afternoon tea with freshly baked cakes. The highlight of each day's gastronomical offering is a five course evening meal like a chef's tasting menu. There is an excellent wine cellar with local wines that are never available outside Italy. Expect to be amazed and delighted.
The Practice
We practice twice daily in a beautiful air conditioned white space with curved ceilings. There is a full range of yoga props and really excellent yoga mats that have great grip. Expect a balanced practice accessible to all levels, with morning dynamic sessions and workshops. Afternoon sessions will be gentler or restorative. Do as much or as little as you like.

Social
The property is set within arable farm land and has its own ancient wood with marked trails. It is very pleasant to find a spot in one of the rocking chairs under a tree - a great place to read. There are curtained day beds for each room for an afternoon snooze or take a swim in the pool. If you opt to drive from the airport, you could choose to explore the local area, visiting historic hilltop towns for a stroll around the whitewashed streets or sit in a cafe and enjoy people watching with an ice cream.

Cancellation Policy
The booking deposit is non-refundable. Full payment is due 2 months prior to departure. Payments can only be accepted in pounds sterling. If something unavoidable happens I will try to help you, but if you cancel after payment of final balance, no refund is possible. Much of my work happens before we go, so I still incur the costs and do the work entailed. To give you the best possible experience, I put a lot of work into organising the programme and designing the yoga to suit participants. You must take out your own travel insurance when you book (not just before you travel) so that if anything does happen, you will be able to reclaim your losses.
