If you live in Cambridge and are looking for high-quality yoga classes, Andrea Hill Yoga in Duxford offers expert-led vinyasa, fundamentals, gentle yoga, back care, stress relief, breathwork, private lessons, and more — just 8 miles south of the city centre, a 15-minute drive down the M11.
Why Cambridge Residents Choose Duxford
Cambridge has plenty of yoga options. Large gyms offer classes. Studios in the city centre run schedules. So why do so many Cambridge residents drive 15 minutes south to practise in Duxford?
The answer is quality and care, value for money and ease of parking.
My classes are deliberately small. That means individual attention, personalised modifications, and a teacher who actually knows your name and your body. In a big studio, you are one face in a crowd. In my classes, you are a person I am invested in.
You don't need a membership. All the gyms, clubs and yoga studios in Cambridge require you to have a membership or buy a pass for multiple classes. That's an expensive investment if you just want to give yoga a go. My classes you pay per individual class.
You can be sure of getting a well qualified and experienced teacher — many of the gyms have teachers with minimal yoga qualifications. With my EYRT500 qualification and 10,000 hours of teaching, I bring a depth of experience that is hard to find in a generic gym class. I trained with Jason Crandell (one of the world's leading vinyasa teachers) and in the Ashtanga and Jivamukti tradition. This is not fitness yoga. This is yoga that changes how you feel, how you move, and how you live.
You will have a more personal, high quality experience. I have a home studio not a drafty village hall or multi purpose room. When you visit me I am welcoming you into a very special space with high ceilings, underfloor heating, masses of natural light and the highest quality yoga props on the market.
A Hassle Free Journey
Without doubt if you're driving the worst part of a class in Cambridge is getting there. I can queue for over an hour to get into Cambridge City Centre through the traffic and frequent roadworks and when I do there's nowhere to park nearby or the car parks cost me a fortune. All through my journey the stress of being late is building and I feel increasingly powerless. It often wipes out the benefit that any yoga class might bring.
Coming to Duxford is an easy, normally traffic free journey. And when you arrive, calm and relaxed, you can park for free in my drive or opposite on the street without fear of a ticket.
Getting to Duxford from Cambridge
Duxford is 8 miles south of Cambridge city centre, about 15 minutes by car via the M11 (junction 10) or the A505. There is ample free parking at the studio.
By bike, it is a pleasant ride along relatively flat cycle paths — very doable for the many Cambridge cyclists. Bus route 7 also connects Cambridge to Duxford and there is a train to Whittlesford Parkway, though a car is most convenient.

Why the Short Drive Is Worth It
Many of my Cambridge students tell me the 15-minute drive is part of the ritual. It is a transition from the busyness of the city to the calm of the studio. By the time they arrive, they have already started to unwind.
And after class, there is no rushing back to the city. You can take a moment. Breathe.
Come south for your practice. It is closer than you think, and the yoga is worth the journey.
